crazy about bees!

I'm gearing up for our 2nd Annual Activity Girl's Article of Faith Carnival. Last year was our first go at it and it was fun but this year we're going to kick it up a notch. I'm excited because we're finally back in our church building (it's been under construction for FOREVER!!-- Alright, not forever but nearly 13 months is plenty looong). So, now that we're back in the building we're going to go all out! Our theme is 'bee's'.

Here's our little mascott!

We're going to have yellow & black balloons and cupcakes decorated as bees. Our invites, tickets (yes, tickets...it's a carnival after all!) and posters will have bees on it, even our trophy for our article of faith 'bee' has a bee on it...but, I'm trying to find a fun way to tie in bees with an inexpensive take home keepsake. Last year I gave them bee magnets and they were super cute but I got them for a steal at JoAnne Fabrics, it was a fluke. This year when I'm looking I'm not finding any inspiration. I have 23 girls so I need alot but I need to be frugal. Any ideas??

tooting HM's horn

I love being a consultant for Heritage Makers! I love creating books and projects and I love helping others do the same. This is a fantastic video about 'Premiere' artwork on Heritage Makers! I just had to toot the HM horn!

my Activity Girl's book

I just had to share my newest book. I had so much activity Day girl stuff in my family photo album that it was a bit excessive so instead I made a separate book of AG for 2009. I think it turned out cute. I used the spiral bound book format so it's an inexpensive and fun way to make a quick book.

I'll tweak it a bit more before I publish but....isn't it cute! Aren't they cute?!!!

Folding Sheet Sets

A couple of years ago in one of my New Year New Start "I'm going to be soooo organized this year" binges, I stumbled across this simple piece of advice in Better Homes and Gardens and that is to fold and keep your sheets together in 'sets'. It's simple. I've been doing it for years and my life has been simplifed because of it. It is so nice every Monday (Clean Sheets Day!! There's even a song to go with it!! I love Clean Sheets Day!!) to be able to strip the sheets off the bed and then go grab one of my packets of sheets to put on the bed. There is no searching for tops or bottoms, rarely ever a missing pillow case (teenager occasionally gets lazy and 'borrows' one...but, on the whole the packages are left alone:). It's simple. What do you do to simplify your life? I'm curious!

so..........

So, Peekaboo gave her dog Treena a haircut.

Treena's a doxipom (dauchaund pomeranian mix). Neither breed is known for growing much hair. she's a bit bald. I may or may not post a pick of her in her altered state.

New Years Resolutions

So, it is the time of year to make New Year's resolutions. Making resolutions is easy. Making them stick is hard. So, I thought I'd use my blog as a way to keep myself accountable this year. how do you keep yourself accountable?
